YAKETY-YAK

last week of November i was in NC with my cousin. we took the long route going there and drove (well, ouraunt did all the driving since my cousin doesn't have a driver's license yet and i wasn't able to renew my international one before i left) for a total of 12 hours including a two hour stop at a mall somewhere in Delaware, where i got a $7 pair of flats which was originally priced at $25 then marked down to $10 prolly after thanksgiving then when i took it to the counter it had an additional $3 off. Steal! oh, where was i? right the trip. it also included a brief stop at Chick-fil-A, a fast food joint that specializes in chinese food. i mean, chicken. you really won't know from the name so just putting it out there.

we were there to sort out her storage unit. found this tarp my aunt's husband had made for her when she first came to the US in 1984. that unit was a vintage lover's paradise.

we were supposed to take the train back to Jersey a mere almost 9-hour ride back but thanks to businesses-understanding-cheapskate-travelers like us we were able to get flights from NC to NYC via jetBlue for $69. they're like the Cebu Pacific counterpart but better, what with free snacks (where i first saw the new regular Coke polar bear design which i heard was being recalled) and FREE check-in of your first bag.  it's not a 747 but it's ROOMY with two seats on each side aaaand a personal tv! and it was just a one hour flight. to think Delta punished their passengers with their own movie choices on screens you have to crane your neck to see on a 19-hour transpacific flight. tsk.

anyways, the flight was quick and uneventful. after picking up our one luggage we followed signs within the new and clean jetBlue terminal to the AirTrain two floors up to take us to Jamaica Station in Queens. i don't know how long it took us coz i was busy looking at The 'Hood in all their graffiti-ed glory. $10 less later, we arrived at Jamaica. there are two routes to NYC Penn from there: either we take the LIRR which was the fastest but more costly at around $7-8 or the scenic version of the subway E train at $2. since it was time we were plenty of and not moolah, the saying time is gold is such a BIG lie coz i don't see any gold-- lol, we chose the latter. it took around 30mins just in time for us to catch the next train bound for Jersey.

next destination, please. =D
